The perfect burgundy red.

We are working like crazy behind the scenes over here on this Law Firm renovation! The contractor started demo this week and it’s officially go time. And now I’m panicking a little because I’ve got to get to work on finalizing some big decisions.

You can see my design board above for what I’m going for in the bathroom at the office. I’ve been searching for the perfect color but none of the colors I’ve found/swatched are quite what we are looking for so I’m still on the hunt. We’ve tried three now and I think we may have found the perfect color this week. We haven’t swatched it yet so we’ll see how it looks on the wall. But I’m feeling pretty hopeful for this one! The color is called “lovestruck” which we thought was pretty fitting for this project. I’ll share on my Instagram and TikTok when I try that one out so stay tuned! These colors are NOT what I’m looking for and I can’t believe how different they look when they dried.

Also, could you die over what’s currently painted on the walls? Can’t wait to see that go! As I previously mentioned, this building was previously used as a kids game store. Notice the Knight toilet paper holder? Haha! I considered letting that stay ;) but I think it’s gotta go.

I’m envisioning this whole room color drenched in the deep burgundy red. Ceiling, trim, walls, everything! With lots of added gold frames. It’s a very small bathroom so it’ll pack quite a punch with all that red. The perfect law office bathroom, I’d say!

But the top priority for the week: picking the perfect plaid carpet! This is harder than you’d think! I’ve put a plaid in a home before (peep the photo below) but this is a whole different level as these will be much higher traffic and need to be commercial grade. Commercial projects take on such a different level of detail as we have to consider a lot more. Like, um, I guess it needs to be durable since we can’t ask clients to take off their shoes hehe.

So rather than finding the perfect plaid carpet shown here that’s light, soft, and perfect for a closet, I need to find the exact opposite: dark, heavy duty, and extra durable!

We’ve got a lot of details to finalize this week! Check back to see what I find. I’ll share all my favorite carpets I come across as well as the perfect paint color (once I find it!)
